Which HPS bulb do i need?

Ok so i have a 400 watt HPS system,Ballast,and shit.I was looking through bulbs to buy on ebay and cant figure out what i need,they say alot of shit that i dnt know what i means
any help would be repped thanks!
 
some people will argue with me but i say get the cheap bulbs, i run 1000 watts and only pay $20 a bulb, they work just as good as the expensive ones
 
i was looking at all the different priced bulbs,i jsut dont know what i exactally need.like what does e39 mean,and s51,and shit?i just dont wanna pay 12.99 for a bulb that dosent work with my system happend with a mh i bought for 20
 
I cant afford more than 20 bucks a bulb.I dont care waht brand i get or how good it is,i just need to know what kind to buy,as in what do i look for as in words and specs.
 
If cost is the issue then just pay attention to the color temperature and make sure it's ANSI code (S51) matches the ballast. The 2100k color temp should work fine.
 
A $20 bulb is somewhat rare. They're out there though.

You're looking for something with a mogul socket that says 2300K (or something similar) on it.
 
No just buy any of them. 400 watts and High pressure sodium are the only things that matter. Just be careful of buying online with people who have no feedback. Any 400w hps bulb will work.
 
well the bulb im using now cost 17.99 it came with the ballast,i just cant purchase this exact one again.thanks for the info guys.i will look into the bulbs tonight
