which burns hotter mh or hps?

Soon I'll be ready for my first test run. When I test the operating temp should I use the MH or the HPS or should I test both for a full cycle?

You could try to run one then the other for a day or two kind of like a dry run ( with no plants to harm and yadda yadda) but it is hard to tell if that will be your running temp due to the fact that the temp of your surrounding will differ from day to day, summer is coming and i know it is hotter in my house on a 80 degree day than it is on a 40 degree day. hope that helps
