Which AeroGarden is right for me?

Hey starter grower here, have a few plants growing in soil right now, not even to the point of sexing, but my husband found a seed in his smoke the other day and he has always wanted a starter hydro kit so I was thinking an AeroGarden and I read the faq's about it and how to grow in it, but my major question is which AeroGarden should we get, its going to be his b-day and I want something good and I might have just repeated that I'm stoned right now... but do I want one with lots of pods, I saw the deluxe has an extender arm for flowering and getting bigger plants, or should I get a smaller unit like the Pro-100, does the number of pods count, some I saw have 3, some have up to 7, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would personally suggest giving him the parts to build his own as you will be able to customize to suit your requirement at a lower cost. You can't easily grow more than 3 plants in an AG no matter what the size, and although the extended arm will allow uour plants to grow taller, you will want to either go taller still or you will be controlling the height of the plant anyway so another foot isn't needed.

I realize that this isnt an easy answer, but if I knew then what I knew now I would not have bought the AG.

I started with an aerogarden pro 200 and would recommend it to anyone that wants an aero. It has 7 spots for plants, and a light hood that you can remove(with an extra figure-8 cord that can be had for about $8 ) if you happen to grow a tall plant.

But I want to let you know that I moved away from it pretty quickly because: 1) even smaller autoflowers are cramped in it--grow three plants at most. 2) the reservoir is really small--you need to watch it like a hawk when the plants get bigger as they can drink your entire reservoir. 3) you really should add an airstone once the plants hit 2-3 weeks so there is plenty of oxygen for those plants, and then.....you're getting really close to graduating to:

I moved to a stealth hydro system and you can build one of these on the cheap or buy one for about what the aero 200 will cost you. The bubbleponics hydro systems have a larger reservoir (6-7 gallons instead of just over 1), have 6 pods with more room between the plants, and are just a bit more flexible.

I would never talk you out of an aero as they really introduce you to the world of hydro and are easy to care for. Just keep in mind that you might soon want to move to another system and then you should ask if you just want to start there instead.

But no matter what you pick, best of luick. You'll do lots of reading the first grow, but things will turn out well in the end.

So I want to thank everyone for their help and information, I am picking out an Aeroponic system exactly like the one you said, well accualy I'm getting him 2 6 bucket aeroponic systems along with a 8 light florescent light system with 4 blue lights and 4 red lights along with an EZ clone machine :D were picking it up tomorrow so now I get to read up on the aeroponic systems again lol, thank you everyone that has helped me so much, I'm so excited to get everything set up for him, I'm also picking up some WW seeds along with some Jazz seeds when I get the new system I'm going to be picking up a digital camera and making a grow journal.

I know I'm going to be dropping arround 1500 in stuff for him, plus getting him some seeds :D lol and I'm a guy too :P I usually call him my wife, but I'm getting him an Raiforest 6 hole system, with a digital timer so he can set it up for 1 on 4-5 off, then an ez clone, nutes, testers, and a ton other stuff

try this, its a really cool system and they have smaller units available, like where each cup is they have 3 cups, then theres one thats a lot smaller

Nice looking system, you can train the plants or tie them down so from the top it will look like a big green star when in bloom lol

Its easy to grow, its 'hard' to grow large quantities of good bud :) Its not really even hard, it's just illegal and so much more complicated because of it.

actually it has been really hard for me to grow.. maybe because I am one of the few people in the US that it is legal for me to grow since I have my medical card and in WA you can grow 15 plants at one time... and by saying its easy to grow here is my problem and also for those of you that wanted pictures I started my grow journal here

I also want ideas on whats going on with my babies....
