i keep hearing everyone focusing on the color of the trichromes to determine harvest time. they say wait until the trichs are cloudy. these never turned cloudy but you will notice the amber.

so is this ripe? over ripe? under ripe? uppity high? couch lock high?:confused::confused:

From what I've read (as i tend to go by the plant itself) is that when 70-80% of trich's are amber is the ideal time to harvest.

I don't know why... as I can tell you that 5 week old trich's are just as strong as 10 week old trich's... at least I think they are. I been mashed off it for a while now.

I have been trying to go buy the colour of the trichomes as I am a noob and I thought it was the easiest way. For the same reason I can't answer the question about the high, I haven't read anywhere where the triches go directly to amber.

I saw the Happy Plumber post of yours and it was fantastic and could see the difference between the bud in the pics you posted. Unfortunately through lack of knowledge again I had to take my plant before time (bad weather) but I still reckon it would have been difficult to tell by the look of the plant, I think that ability will come with experience and I am looking forward to that day.

It makes more sense that thc is created and downgraded throughout the entire cycle. I've just been smoking pure oil for nearly 3 weeks now, and i can tell you that 4 week oil is very potent shit. Off my indica plant, guess what? couch-lock buzz. This is at 4 weeks flower.

so the trichs formed during week 4 will be different than the trichs formed during week 7. makes sense to me.:blsmoke:

Yes. There are trich's all over the plant... the older ones downgrade as the new ones come in. Maybe thc only has a certain lifespan... or once it is trapped in the folds of the plant it is protected from the light and is put in a form of stasis.not enough is known about cannabis, and it's up to us to find out.

This is right, when the trichome tips are amber harvest. These look like they've started degrading even. Introspective high!
