Where were you wrong? What bands did you only appreciate long after everyone else got it?
 
See I love the older Pearl Jam stuff but dislike their work more and more over time. The less you hear of Andy in their music the more I dislike it.

my biggest error was Greatfull Dead. As a teenager i didn't see what the big deal was about them and the culture. Later on I learned guitar, found a band, and ended up playing about 30 of their songs in our set lists. Every campfire party had us acoustic jammin to their tunes. From 'who cares' to the soundtrack of my 20's. lol
 
well i will say this, a LOT of songs by them have missed notes or skipped notes, dead notes, weird transitions. so only their studio albums are spot on perfect. anything outside a studio recording can really throw the uninitiated right off. even die hard fans and tape traders scour for the rare few live sets/songs with minimal errors/flubs. and personally speaking as a musician nothing crushes the vibe more than a flubbed note. i mean they can really really soar on a sonic wave just sucking you in for the ride and then jerry would flub a note and really harsh the buzz. i've only heard a handful of live soundboard recordings that were flawless. and when you're finally a deadhead studio songs just suck hard and ain't even worth listening to.so yeah racer it's just a weird thing you're into it or not.

i like a lot of music. only genres i'm not really into much would be, hmm, newer country.. i do like some older country like johnny cash and a few others though, umm, newer rap, not really a fan.. love a lot of 90s rap / hip hop, opera's not really my cup of tea either.. never learned to appreciate much classical either..

can get into some drum and bass, jungle
was into a lot of punk / hardcore as a teen, early 20 something, and still listen to some of that stuff, like fugazi, minor threat, sick of it all to name a few bigger names, black flag
some bands like royal trux, gomez, oasis has a few good tunes..
idk, i think i have a pretty eclectic taste in music though...
