where to live in oregon

the further north you go on the I-5 the more crime and the more rain
the futher south you go the less crime and less rain.
I don't think this statement is entirely accurate...haha. If you like the city, Portland is the only one. And as far as crime goes in a city, Portland is not bad, at all. If you like the country, take your pick. Southern Oregon is nice and sunny during the summer, and rainy, sometimes snowy during the winter. East of the Cascades (2/3 or so of the state) is VERY sunny, warm during the summers, cold and snowy in the winters, and a high desert. Mostly very small towns.

On the coast, very small towns with limited good weather. Mild winters, but rainy and overcast.

I went to college in Southern Oregon, and it is really nice. But don't let anyone fool you.....just about ALL of Oregon is fucking awesome! I lived 10 years in Brookings (on the coast and awesome), I lived 10 years in Bend (Central Oregon and it is awesome), I lived in Ashland (Southern Oregon where I went to college and you guessed it, AWESOME), and I have now lived in Portland for 4 years, and again, I love it! Overall, we have a great state, with very low crime rates.

Oregon is a beautiful state. All over the place, lol.

While both have fallen, it's nice to see how much Portland has gone down since 99. BTW, wasn't that right around the time voters approved the OMMP? I hear ya about living in big cities, Tofu. I'm a small town boy myself, and I just can't get right in a city. I'll take Dairy Queens, Western Autos and one traffic light, any day:)

We have the Dairy Queens, it is the A & W's that we are missing in the city! You know you are in a small Oregon town when they have an A & W. Still love that stuff. In Brookings, we did not have a McDonald's, we had A & W, and a Super Ms Pacman game.

Right on:) A & W's and Arctic Circles remind me of being a kid. I couldn't even tell you where any of those places are anymore! In Toledo we only had a dairy queen, and Newport only had an A & W and Arctic Circle. Sadly, for Newport anyway, that has changed:(

I was in Newport a couple weeks ago... The Arctic Circle is still there, I have a love hate relationship with crappy chilli cheese fries...

LOL. I'm the same way with sauerkraut. A couple of times a year I have to get a big plate of polish sausage and 'kraut, then lay on the couch like a bloated tick and moan all weekend.

That is going to be a very nice outdoor grow there... low humidity and lots of sun!
Words of wisdom. Stay south. Alot of clackamas and multnomah cops are members of religious LEO groups. So there motives become unclear, and they will tell you to your face that MJ laws are bullshit and they don't agree with them. Eugene is kinda dirty ewokish for me. (By that I mean people wearing hemp clothes that smell like patchouli and dirt) But the climate is much calmer than PDX and
surroundings. I would roll to SW coast. The brackish air makes the buds resin up something fierce. But ground growing becomes a problem without amendments.
