where do i find those bathroom fixtures for CFL's?????????????

the ones where its a row of bulbs ?????????( like 5 sockets)

and are they expensive

nevermind then.....
ive got a $60 budget on lights. (CFL of coarse).
but i want about 8 of them.
im doing a 12/12 from seed ( 4 plants)
for a little experement..
and need lots of CHEAP lightingg

a fixture with 4 sockets each connected to a y-splitter will give you eight sockets and probably cost you 35 bucks. But if your budget us that tight than get some fixtures at goodwill or look at the free stuff on craigslist and your going to find a vanity mirror or something to fit your needs

well do you know about the plain ol' dome looking reflectors ???
how much are those?
u can get em about anywhere.
but i dont know how much they aree

Home Depot 10.5" reflector w/socket for about $10. At some point you are going to have to spend money. Think of it as an investment.

yes i knoww.
but thanks for the price.
im going to start with 2 plants and veg em for 2 weeks.
then when i put those into flower ill just throw in 3 seedling for 12/12 all the way.

1st week im going to buy 1 of those reflectors for the 1st week, then every week ill add 1 more reflector with a "Y" adapter.
till i have about 8 CFL's going.

would that be alright?

i heard that if your doing very small grows ( like 2 plants 12/12 from seed)
that u can use 4000 lumens all the way thro and not have problems.

but anyways would that be enough lighting for my idea?

That plan sounds like it might work. If you put a Y adapter on the reflector, the CFLs will stick out beyond the reflector somewhat. So get your Y adapter, light bulbs, and reflector all together in Home Depot and make sure everything fits together, otherwise you'll get home and realize they don't. I made this mistake. I have no experience with growing 12/12 from seed. Just remember with CFLs, more light means more bud, so keep em close.

thanks mann.
will it stick out so much its not useable???
im going to put everything together before i leave, also could i be able to get a timer for under $10??
im probly gonna have a couple t8's in their with it

Mr. Green
Timer at wally worl 5-9 bucks depending on the style. Home Depot has brass(doesn't matter you'll throw out the cover any way) 3 fixture vanitys for $5, at least they did here 2 days ago. I started with outdoor flood light fixtures from Wally for $5 each. They hold 2, but with Y's 4.:peace:

Here's a pic. In the lighting aisle. If you notice, I had to cut off a bit of the end in order to screw in the bulbs, took like 30 seconds. Completely adjustable on 2 planes, so you can point them wherever you want. These will be my side lights in flower. Also, emergency blanket = $1.69 :peace:

there are many DIY reflector threads on here. If money is an issue, get some cardboard and cover it in mylar in sort of an upside down "V" shape to deflect all of the light back.. cover the area around with mylar and you should be fine. I'm straddling the fence between cfl and hid right now. not so sure about the emergency blanket. Walmart here has them for 2.20 and they are polyester based.. not sure if its as reflective as mylar.

edit... not exactly a V more of one of these things "\_/"
whatever that is... a v that fell on its ass.... upside down....

I would just purchase a roll of mylar online it's 2 mill mylar 50 feet by 4 feet wide, only like 25-30 bucks, well worth the money spent, I am waiting on mine to come..

i've heard the emergency blankets in walmarts camping section are made of mylar but caught no mention of it on the package... they are 2.50 at most apiece and a lot cheaper than mylar rolls.. and as effective from what i've read on hear... no IMO.. just based on RIU reading... hope that helps
