Where can I get something like THAT??

My home depot sucks....I guess tomorrow I will go to the one thats further away and see if they have it. Thanks Willie!

True Value wasn't open closed at 5.its 6 here was 540 when i called :(. O well. I have all the PVC pipe already just need the right fittings! I was stoned the first time around, and just bought a bunch of tee's lmao! What was I thinking?

Why build a wooden door, you could make the frame like the one you pictures with just simple cuts from the store. Then use white sheeting and canvas to cover it. Make the door with a zip.

Ya ready for more excuses, I bought all the 2x2's to make it, because I was going to do that at first, then after fucking up my cuts ( i do have a miter saw) decided fuck wood, then I bought the PVC and bought the wrong shit, and couldnt find the right fittings, and said fuck pvc lmao, and then I saw those aluminum tubes and thought I'd give those a go. LMAO I am wasting my money so well! By the time I get one growbox done, I'll have enough materials to build 12!

tees will work if you cut off one end below the middle nipple. its actually easier to make square 90 degree bends that way. And you can use your miter saw if you dont mind the smell!

I still say pvc pipe is the way to go. Plastic is easy to cut and you can fit all of the peices together before you glue to make sure they fit. And as a bonus, PVC doesnt conduct heat or electricity! As far as the PVC fittings go, look in the plumbing department. The stuff you are after will be white in collor and a bucket full of 90 degree and "t" fittings should get you through.

I bought the Tee fittings origannly, i still have them...16 of them and 16 elbows too ( 90 degree fittings i belive ), But I can't seal it by doing it that way. Am I just thinking the wrong way?

Tee fittings are in red. 90 degree are in yellow. With the fittings that you listed you are good to go.

Sure thing. Just requires thinking outside of the box. The fittings you were actually looking for are called side outlet 90s White PVC sch40 plumbing fittings - PlumbingSupply.com and home depot(or any local plumbing shop) should have those, but you don't need them anyways. Just spend some time on layout and fit everything together before gluing to make sure its going to work for you.

hey willie!
you should make a small tutorial on how to make that grow box, and pm it to a mod like fdd or rollitup or whoever you talk to most... i think that that would be a great addition to the grow faq DIY section... pvc's cheap and generally easy to find along with those fittings!!!

and a wrap in some black/white poly or mylar backed with something would finish it off nicely, velcro'ing the front panel on for an easy access door...

+rep!!!

Word man! Thanks again, I will post pics in this thread and my grow log after its complete!

I'm no expert, but that looks like the aluminum frame to a shower stall. I know it's a little late and all, but hey, maybe someone else will want to make a grow room out of that :)

Here's what I figure to build it out of wood. I wouldn't use metal because of the heat.

12 2x4's = $24
4 sheets OSB = $20-$30
6 L bracket supports (hurricane straps?) $12-$15
Hinges = $2
Paint = $15
Nails = $5
Deck screws 2"= $3 *you could get around this
*trim the inside of the door with 2 inch rubber(thin) for light leaks

Tools needed tape measure, skill saw or hand saw, speed square, pencil, hammer, drill*. level, cause we want it straight.

Or you could just look around and buy a large cabinet.

I don't think i missed anything

Good luck

i know its an old thread but may help someone,
looks like the metal fram my homebox has, most grow tents are just frames like that with covers.
