When to switch to 12/12?

I run a perpetual harvest style.
Plants are cloned, in root riots. Then they are sent to Solo cups at roots showing.
They go on to 1 gallon pots. Then 3 gallon pots. They finish in 5 or 7 gallon pots.
I take the clones from trimming the plants that are up potted to the final pots and use the best for the clones. These final pot plants, are run for 8-10 days and into the bloom room's they they go.

Topping is done in the Solo cups and some extra as needed in the 1 gallon pots.

Yeah, this is actually what I'll probably end up doing rather than keeping a mother. More importantly for me than taking up space, a mother counts against my 12 legal plant limit.

I'm pretty new to all this, so I'm not sure if I'm ready to settle on genetics for the garden or if I want to pop some beans to see what I like, but I can already tell one of the vegging phenos I popped is something I'm going to want to keep, it was like twice as vigorous as my other plants, can't wait to see how it yields. Ultimately I'd like to have a few strains I like and just clone them as needed before I put their moms into the flowering chamber.

Example of supercropping that @curious2garden mentioned. This is of one of my clones. It is the top main branch. It was getting too tall being I'm growing 4 of them in a 2x2x4 lol But this helps me a lot in my situation as far as height. I flowered them at 12 inches tall. All 4 in 2 gal fabric pots. Didn't want them to veg long and then be rootbound in flower with such small pots.

How you do it is take the stem in between the 2 nodes where u wanna bend and squeeze it to soften it up the entire spacing between the nodes.. then slowly and gradually bring it in the direction you want it to be. Once you have the bud site in the spot you want it, just tie it down so when she heals.. the bud grows upwards as you can see mine already did within 2 days. Good Luck with your grow. This is my 1st run.. The mother plant is now flowering in week 8 in a 2x4x6.5' tent. These clones were an experiment to just see if I can be successful. Giving them away as promised when I started them. I said "If they grow.. I'll give you one..." so now I gotta eat those words lol All good tho. I'm havin fun and hopefully you are too.

I thought the same thing til I found a male lol I let it grow outside and it made a shit ton of pollen sacks.
