so I have got some seedlings popping, but I don't want them to get fried so when is it safe to put them into full sun?

Depends on your environment/location and the size of the plant.

I put mine out this month. I keep them in pots in a partial shady area to get them use to the sun. Then I will plant in ground later this month.

I started from seed indoors about 4 weeks ago so the insects would eat the leaves.

My seeds popped outdoors. Those seedlings are resiliant and getting them toughened up for the bright UV rays of the actual sun is better done now than later.

Thank you guys I will keep em in partial sun at mid day and give them morning and afternoon sun to harden them in. Are 40 degree nights to harsh for the seedlings.

Most important thing, mostly cuz I grow in AZ, is to acclimate them properly. I put mine outside in a shady area for about 6 hrs for about 1-2 weeks, then bump it up to 10 hours for the next week. By then mine are ready to take on the full sun. Though my conditions are a bit unique in the country[hot as fuck and dry as hell(summer highs in the 100's and up to the one hundred and teens)] I use window screening to reduce the intensity.

Most definitely good growing conditions. An old roommate of mine moved to northern cali for its great climate for growing. And we're all familiar with the rep surrounding weed grown in the emerald triangle lol
