When to put seedlings into soil

Hi, can you tell me when i should put my indoor seedlings in soil? I know you can from the beginning, but I started them in those coco jiffy pots. My plan was to wait until I can see roots at the bot or sides of the jiffy. But idk if thats the correct way. Im thinking if i see those roots they wont starve if put them into soil...or would those roots come faster on the sides if i put them in soil? For the lulz i also planted some beans - After like a week the outside of the jiffy was full of roots, i put them into soil and now they r thriving. But its almost 2 weeks for my mj but no roots visible...

usually wht i do is germ the beans until i see the tap root showing. then use a pen and dig down about an inch or so. make sure the soil is moist. than put the seedling in and cover lightly with soil. and put my light(s) about 1-2 inches from the top with saran wrap over it for a humidity dome and in about 2-3 days it sprouted :D

yea but i germed them in jiffies the same way you described, but not in soil, because i had only "hot" soil that Moment...

ahh i didnt even see the picture. ive never used pellets... and you said no roots are visible? they look about right to put the pellets into your pot in soil...

Thank you. Hmm, r u sure? I would like to see that they have some roots, otherwise in my crazy Imagination they could starve when put in soil if they have not left the jiffies root wise, no? Is there any way to Speed that up? Another question: should i like put them soil with stem under soil to the first pair of leaves or is that more viable for older plants, dont want that babystem to rot. I have biobizz light and biobizz allmix. First i want to put them in light mix then transplant later into allmix. Also should i cut those pellets open on the sides before putting them into soil?

They look great. You don't has to cut the pellet though, just plunk them into the soil. An advantage of placing them in the soil right away is that there is less of a chance for the pellet to dry out, and your new root growth simply goes straight into the new soil, with no damage at all to the roots. Peace
