When to lower the light?

Hey guys. Ok so tool a small break last year but I have just got a completely new set up I got my babies on Wednesday. My question is when should I lower the lights?

I am running two air cooled hoods. Have an awsome fan sucking out through them and an awsome fan blowing in so air flow is great and temps are brilliant, they tend to stick around the 18-20 degrees mark.

So my cutting came and they are Blue cheese and If I'm honest probably the most healthy happy looking ones I've ever had. I've got the lights up high but when should I lower it? Should I lower it gradually over time or just get it down and do I need ti wait until the roots start showing?

So my setup now is the Alien RDWC system (highly recommend it) two 600 watts in air cooled hoods. Currently I'm just running water phd to around 5.5 and I'm top feeding them some mixed up Rhisotonic 3 times a day just to ensure healthy happy root growth.

I must admit the alien rdwc system was a pleasant surprise, have had similar cheaper system but I'd spend that extra money time and time again now I've seen it for my self it's a lovely bit of kit.

Get ya a couple floor lamps with some cheap compact fluoresces untill those things have fully rooted save ya some bulb life and electricity, after that keep ya light around 2 ft and lower gradually to 1 foot but that just my preference gl

Thanks, oddly enough my super 'eco' house recirculates hot air back around the system so I actually don't spend too much extra on electricity as the heating is turned down to compensate and the house is till nice and warm! This is a new set up completely new bulbs everything! I'd love to hear if any of you out there have purchased and used an Alien RDWC system before and what results you got.

I'm not saying its the right way, but i run 600w HPS in a parabolic hood with a fan pointed up into it to shift the heat around and I have it really, really close as soon as the plants have enough root to replace any moisture the transpire through the leaf.
I don't have temperature issue, which might allow me to get closer, but if it's not bleaching the leaves it's not too close in my garden.

Yeah all I was worried about was either going too early or too late and causing then to stretch a bit too much. Just wondered if there's a good time to start lowering them i.e when the roots have come through the baskets? I don't have temperature problems at all my temps seem pretty steady!! I have experienced light bleaching before so I'm very cautious of this!
