when to flower?

how do you know when it is time to flower?:confused: my plants are about 10 inches tall. do you go by how tall the plants are or by how the plant looks? not to sure, please help me on this.
 
well its upto u as long as it mature enuff, 10 inches maybe enuff depending on what ur lookin for, got a pic?, people say 12 inches im gonna let mine goto at leats 18 before flower, iw nat huge buds

Looks good, I would honestly stick with at least 12" before you start flowering, you'll be a lot more happy with your yield. I would look into topping or fimming your plants so you get two or more colas and even more bud. I'd stick it out a couple more weeks before flowering. But if your short on time, you can flower right now if you want. Keep up the good work!
 
thanks, im in no hurry to flower, just wondering when is a good time to flower. i will let it grow for a another couple of weeks before i start to flower.
 
Wait a week then start if you only using T5s. Plants look very nice and healthy. good work on the first try! especilly using hydro. its can get tricky. I am too scared to touch it
 
It all depends on height really, as a plant will still at least double in height from start to finish of budding period. I grow mine to only 6inches and they still finish at 2ft high and yield an oz each but i fit more closer together. So what i'm really saying is grow them to the capacity of the space you have!!
