when to cut?

yeah my plant is 2 weeks and 3 days old it wants to grow up more than out its about 10 inches tall already with the two small round leaves one set of leaves that is just a spike and between 6-8 normal leaves. how long should i wait to trim off some of these leaves to try to maximize my growing area.
any advice is greatly appreciated

Any pics? My guess is you can top that plant now if you want. Toping will give you a bushier plant rather than a tall one. Keep the light as close as you can without being too hot or burning the plant this will prevent stretching. Good luck.

i know my setup is haggard but it wants to grow like a beast here are some pics if these help

i know the tinfoil is bad its gone now and replaced with mylar, and my 400 watt hps is on its way.. any recommendations at all help

also i somewhat understand the idea of topping a plant, but where should i cut and how much?

Okay, after seeing them, leave them right now, lower your light. Wait to see 2 more sets of leaves on top then clip it. Maybe 2 weeks or so.

Get a fan blowing on the plant, just a light breeze. And like Chiceh said, move the light closer.

Your plant looks fine, nice vigorous growth and a thick stem. I would definately top it. What strain is it?

Okay ive been around these fourms for a week or two and keep seeing people say "top your plant to get two growths instead of one". Can someone PLEASE explain in detail the topping process and how to do it? For example : on this plant above in the pics how would you "top" it? does it mean just clipping the plant?

its basically cutting the top new growth.. when the leaves are trying to fold out you cut it off... and it promotes the 2 nodes next to it.. to expand and thicken its stem..

just do a search you will find how to top..
