when to change lights

ok plants onto week 5 are bout 14 inch tall ,some have bout ten nodes high, have been running 18-6 light cycle when i change onto 12-12 do i change my bulbs to 2700k at that stage????????.i am using 5 85watt 6400 and hav 5 105watt 2700k for flowering.hav been doing really well under cfls so far, this is my first grow so any help would be great.thanks

ok,thanks for the replies,as this is my first grow dont really no what to expect,no how to figure out the males and what not but what sort of yeild should i expect from a plant,i no this will vary alot but on average say if u hav a farely decent plant.?????.

The yield will vary alot with CFLs due to the kind and such but also if you grow it in soil or hydro, if you use CO2 or not and more. If you read on what people have roughly gotten from the plant or the yields that the site that you got it from and those are the rough lines.

when u say alternating nodes do u mean new growth or nodes growing from each set of nodes, the answer is yes hav loads of them ,plants are really bushy and short i kept the lights as close as i could to try stop them stretching out, just when we talking bout this when i look down on top of plants u hav two nodes grow out then as plants grows up u get two new nodes grow out at say right angles to the one below and so on well i hav two plants that put out 3 nodes at a time and so on as plant grows ,any idea what the reason for this, dont no what strain i hav the seeds where gave to a friend of a friend and i just thought would hav a go.if that doesnt make sense what am going on about will try get u a few pics.
many thanks again.

Alternating nodes r when they r no longer sprouting side by side. It will look more like the the prongs used to climb a power pole. One fan leaf will branch out and the next one branches out a little higher. Not directly beside it. Did u understand that

dont forget that a plant may grow 2.5 x times taller once put into flower so that when u know to 12/12 is when the plant is about 1/3 of your grow space
