When Should I Start Watering 24/7?

I only had CF's at the time and they were still growing pretty fast. Then after a week, they just fell over. They were still green but I think they were overwatered. Now, I have a 400 watt hps. They still seem to be a little weak. Should I slow down the watering>?

hehe, this is the hydro forum ya know. :-D Are you growing hydro?

The problem is too little light. The plant wants more, so it will stretch taller to get light, and then doesn't have the strength to stand up. An oscillating fan gently rustling the plant from birth will help this.

Yeah, Im growing hydro and aero. forgot to mention that. Sounds like I didnt have enough light. Im growing with expanded aggrogate clay balls. They were germinated in those lava rock cubes. The plants im worried about are in the aero that I just set up. When the root gets out of the cube, is it time to turn on the aero system 24/7? or wait? because they still seem weak.

How far away is the light from the little ones ? If the light is too far away, then the little sprouts will grow too tall and fall over like a limp noodle, like you said...

Those plants are awful small to have under an HID, even at 4 feet. And maybe too small for the aero system yet, at least full time like you're asking. When plants are still that small, they require easy handling, and special care. Once established a little, they will take to the full-service better.
