what is the best way to tell if my buds are ready without using a microscope?

i know that, but like what percent red or orange should they be? i want it to be like a strong indica smoke.

Screw hairs...If you don't have a microscope..go to $ store get a magnifying glass, and tear a little piece of frosted leaf. top and put on paper.. that way you can see it better.. I even bought $ reading glasses..the strongest 3.00..works in a pinch.. I like my trichs (crystals) 50-50- amber-cloudy.. cloudy = headstone... amber = couchlock.... Luck..

i just found these two magnifying glassesnd one is a big one with a little one on the side. if i put one on the littler one i can see ok, but i have to go real close. how much would it be and where could i get the correct microscope?

If you are in the USA I believe Radio Shack has a cheap ($10 or less?) LED pocket scope. Otherwise you can try eBay.
