When is it "time" to switch to 12/12?

So I have some plants that I've been doing a closet CFL grow with, I was just curious how you decide when it's time to switch to 12/12 I'm in no hurry but was just wondering how everyone makes this decision? Thanks

1st picture plant on left looks good, I would fim or top it now and wait 2 weeks then go 12/12. Being you are cfl

I also have a couple hidden in the back that are very nice as well that I should prob top too. you say to wait 2 weeks to switch to 12/12 is this to allow the top to split out???

Yes and also so the plant is back into full growing and not healing.

Good luck bro. I sure wish I knew about topping a lot sooner. Lol like before I started to flower my plants.

Alright well I think it's been about a week or so I donno since I posted in this thread. I've been through a battle or two with the plants here mostly with bugs. Fungas Gnats were killing them off but I think I now finally got them under control with some ortho spray and the plants seem to be fairing fairly well. I did have to trim off some of the dead leaves which I'm not sure is the best for the plants. Also one of the plants I am finding has several yellow leaves on the bottom that I would assume are from lack of light, this plant is much bushier than the others and I think I will need to surround it with more light or get rid of it as I think it will continue to yellow if not . I still have not changed the light cycle as I figured that they would be stressed if I were to do so with the bugs. I did top them about 5 days ago and you can see in the pictures that they have split and are starting to see new growth. I'm hoping that in the next 2 weeks I can put them in a 12/12 cycle. If you have any comments suggestions advice etc. please feel free.
