When during flower do you switch to water only? (I am growing diffrent strains)

I know I am getting ahead of myself as my grow has only been flowering for a week now. But I figured Id ask just so that I know for the future.
I am growing the follow strains:

Nirvana Seeds:
White Widow
Hindu Kush
Haze
Bubblishious

Other Seeds:
Dank
Willys (never heard of it)
and some misc bag seed.

Well I know with different strains some take longer to flower then others.
I am going off a recipe from Progressive Growth that has a 8week schedule for my neuits.

I know its time to harvest when 50% or so of the trichromes are cloudy. But lets say white widow which I believe takes 10 weeks to flower compared to the other ones, when do I switch to water only and no ferts? I mean I am not going to know 2 weeks in advance exactly when the trichromes are going to turn cloudy.. I just don't want to stop the neuits too early and not get the most potential from my plants, but I also don't want to wait too long and find out I need to harvest a week after I stopped neuits which would be too early meaning id have to wait longer meaning less thc potency.

Anyone? Videoman Id like a response from you since you seem to know your shit around here.

Thanks

Your in hydro, I believe.
you asked the wrong guy about hydro, ask nongrenthumb,
or a bunch of others, if you ever go organic and in dirt....come on back!
I hear alot of people saying 10 days to 2 weeks though.
Peace

Sorry dude, when I hear Progressive Growth., I think hydro. Thats what they do.
Theres alot of debate over this. Alot say 2 weeks, but I grow using foxfarm nutes, and I did not stop using the nutes at all, I used em right up to harvest, and I can assure you, my weed is the sweetest tasting stuff around, everyone comments how good it tastes.
What I did do, is use molasses near the end, as it aids in adding weight, and makes a smoother smoke.
You should defenitely get some molasses now.
I hope this helps you.

Videoman, I been using this stuff suggested in one of high times.
Sucanat, its basically a [SIZE=-1]non-refined cane sugar im sure pretty close to molasses. I have been using that since day one, im sure it didnt do alot of good during veg but what the hell.

Also using sweet leaf as per another suggestion in the same article on hightimes.
SWEET LEAF Infuse your buds with the power of complex carbohydrates and you’ll taste the sweet sensation of sugar supplements in your sensi. :: hightimes.com

So I wonder if I can get by using progressive all the way through?
Foxfarm neuits are organic though right?

Wish you had aim or something videoman, you seem to have a bunch of info I could use just these forums take so long to get a responce sometimes.

Dude, I like you and am happy to assist, while I do have aim, lets stay here, I feel safer for now. I looked up Succant, and it is simular. Molasses is very cheap, try it. Its worth the $3.00 for it. Your lungs will thank me for it. lol
Foxfarm is organic, true. I tried researching your nutes and couldnt find em, are they chemical based? If so, I'd cut em out and use the molasses.
Feel free to PM me anytime, if I am not here, I'll respond soon.
Everone I know who uses the molasses is amazed, some people even have problems with there colas falling over from the weight of the buds & have to tie em up.
Do you have a link to your nutes?
Peace

Mem, you get to know the plants pretty well after so many weeks. You can gauge the progression of the trichs - day one, very clear; day 2, slightly cloudy; day 3, a little more cloudy; etc. Pretty soon you can estimate when you will hit that 50% target. Each strain and each plant within each strain is different and is influenced by your own growing conditions. There may be general guidelines but it's up to you to determine when the plant is ready. Just my 2 cents. Hope is helps.

That stuffs expensive. If I were you, this is what I would do:

Look up each strain and get the expected flowering time.
Now remember your actual flowering time will more than likely be longer.
As that is in under optimal conditions.
If the strain says 75 days flowering, than at 70 days, stop your nutes,
and go just water and the molasses, which you should have started already.
Start the molasses about one month prior to harvest.

What ever the time frame, deduct 5 days, and expect to flower for 5 days longer than the seed banks recommendations. so thats 10 days of water.

On another note, have you done our monthly flush?

Maybe after you finish up, I can talk you into going organic?
It's cheaper! lol

I am not worryed about price, I am looking for the biggest buds possible! If organics will do that then I am all for em. I just have heard good things about advanced nutrients so thats why I went with them.

I haven't done a flush because of 1 reason. EVERY and I mean EVERY person I have read that has flushed their plants on this forum has had problems in one way or another related to flushing. I really only want to flush if I know I have an issue that will be resolved by doing so.

My plants have been pretty good to me seeing I have put them through hell. Heat issues, stretching, more heat issues, N deficentacy. Out 25 total I have had 5 die while sprouts, and 3 I just plucked yesterday that where males.
I really don't want to put them through a flush and give them more crap to go through... I have read about people getting by perfectly fine without flushing..

to flush simply ph your water and water slowly 1/4 gal per minute till it runs clear. let it stand 5 minutes then one more dose of water, you plants will be more healthy at the end of flower with regular flushing, very little yellowing spotting will occur. once your plant has rid the soil of salts and your tri's are 50-60% cloudy then do the final flush and 10-14 days later your ready for a harvest.

the most common screw up in soil growers is to allow to much buildup and mistake salt toxicity for maturing buds. if your soil, ferts or salt levels are way off you pistols will prematurely brownout causing loss of yeild.
keeping plants healthy through the finish of the flower cycle will cause explosion in bud productivy.

#1 soil rule is never reuse!
