when u cut plants and air dry them, how many days till they stop actively photosynthesizing when exposed to ambient light?

shoulda made the thread about bricking into your soil for added nutrients then it would be 78 pages deep

lol

I've generally understood that once the cell walls collapse, it's all over... so maybe the first 24~48 hours, then it's done, done... with plant metabolic functions that is. ;-)

does it show a physical trait when they collapse?

since thc degrades in light, you might want to keep them in darkness anyway.

it might last an hour or 2 in direct sunlight, maybe less, maybe 1 or 2 days in indirect light if you put the stem in water lol. somewhat shorter if you didnt, probably not half a day.

the leafs collapse, the soft part of the stem as well.

the main stem works as a pump, keeps the water pressure up and the plant as well, cut the stem and the pressure dies down, soon the plant cant keep up and it droops.

what sso noted... ditto that.

basically the difference between a somewhat outstretched & turgid leaf (say one of the close sugar leaves) vs soft, folding & drooping... the cells that hold the plant together & in form are no longer doing it.
