When can I give seedlings full power LED?

I have a bar of 5 Cree CXB3590's running at max 250 watts, that I have just moved over the top of my seedlings. They are only about 2 weeks old so just little gals. I have the LED turned all the way down and up about 21 inches above them. When can I start cranking up the volume??

I'm doing the same thing with some clones right now. Pot set at around 35%. I started the light at around 30" and am moving it down couple inches a day, once I get it around 20" from top of canopy I'll start turning my pot up a little at a time. I try to get up to the intensity I want to run at in 5-7 days. I've been running my cxb's at about 70% and seeing pretty damn fast growth.

thanks for the heads up man!

I run mine at 100% once the plants get use to them and then throughout the grow. I just know seedlings can be sensitive to them and normally I use floros but nothing in the flower room atm so moved a light bar over to boost these little ones up

I think the general consensus is start em with T5 floros for a few weeks then move em to full strength light, they should flourish. You cAn buy a nice t5 array for under 50 bucks and a small seedling tent also under 50 and you'll never have a issue. If you cant do it that way just raise you light until the light footprint spreads quite a bit for a couple weeks after germination and lower it as they want more.

Hi Guys,
I've been steering away from T-5s. My current fixture wouldn't allow me to get close enough because of heat. So I had to choose between stretchy or heat stressed seedlings. I moved the light...now it's over my workbench. lol

This run, for the first time, seedlings are under 250w MH and doing well...@24" if that's any help to you LED guys.

I start with the Led on full from the start ,i have the light close to the plant tops from the start too,And i have never had any problems. That is with the Mars 300 led,and the mars cob

You will not beat t5's for vegging, all i use i never veg under any thing else.I have vegged under the Mars Cob and the Led from them,And had great results,Great plant growth nice tight nodes. But i love t5's i only use a 4 tube one,and its served me well for years now.I do also have a 3 ft flouresent tube on the mother unit wall ,That is not blue spec its more orange ,i have it on once they get to a decent size before that i just use t5.20190121_164255.jpg

I use a LED screw in bulb. Rated at 9.5w. 60w equivalents. I use t use cfl. But now just use the LED. It’s strong enough for seedling stage. Doesn’t kill em. Doesn’t dry me out. Growth is quick and huge. That led bulb is no where near the same power of a MH or a quantum board or a cob.
