I was talking with some dudes at the hydro shop about the PH of the water out of the tap. I was amazed at the different PH levels that people had only a few miles apart.

What is your PH out of the wall?

Mine comes in at an incredible 9.6! bongsmilie

Mine's usually 7-7.5, depending on the time of year. It seems to be slightly higher in winter, not sure why.

I live in a 60 or 70 year old house with old pipes. How, if at all, does this effect ph?

Pipe brake down. What kind of pipes do you have. Cast Iron and Galvanized are going to be the ones that are the worst.

They are mostly cast iron with PVC patch jobs all over the place.

It wont be a problem just be aware of it. I have a house that was built during ww2 and there is not one thing in this house that is copper so I have the same problem. God I hate aluminum wiring.
