whats this problem

So far things have been going well on my two plants.

i have them under a hlg 260 running at approx 150 watts ( guesstimation from turning the power knob )

while the plants are under the quantum board it looks like theres many little yellow spots in between the leaf veins.
but when i take them out of the tent, its nothalfway as noticeable.

this is my first grow so trying to just get a baseline on whether the plants are ok, orwhether this is the start of a defiency.

here are the pics UNDER NORMAL LIGHT in my bathroom

this is one of the BOTTOM fan leaves

- so it looks like its affecting the lower leaves first

- is it just me or does the quantum boardmagnify leaf issues?

- i am assuming its some kind of defiency?

any help, thoughts, advice, appreciated

ask me any questions so we can figure out more anout it.

in soil
hlg 260 quantum board
bio canna nutes

Check on the undersides of the leaves for bugs to rule that in or out. Hard to tell from pictures. You could have more than one problem.

Those little spots look suspicious.

i have been, havent found anything resembling anything bug like at all.

how big are thrips? can i see them with my naked eye?

How often do you nute? Looks like the tips are burnt, and if it’s the bottom ones it’s possibly nute burn, but at the same time, your fan leaves are kind of fading from green to yellow (at least in the pics), which makes me think not enough N. Sometimes it’s best just to reset and water with pH’d tap water a couple times then go back to nutes

On a side note I have the HLG320, I do not think that is your problem, but the amount of light may be it.

You need a killawatt meter to accurately tell you how many watts you’re pulling, that little drive knob, at least on mine, has no numbers.

For all you know you’re giving too much or not enough.

Aim for 30-35 watts per sq ft with QBs

ok that makes some sense.

i dont have a volt measuerer or whatever, BUT i did adjust the light to approx halfway from 25% two days ago.

i just use a screwdriver that has a line on it to roughly measure how far it is turned up.

i didnt realize you only needed 30-35 watts on the quantum board, i thought it was 40-50. from the start my first thought was that it was light burn. my space is 2.5 x 2.5 but realistically with the other stuff in the tent its only 2 x 2 so maybe it is on too high like you are saying. the lowest the knob goes is 135 watts, so at 25% it would be roughly 160 and when i turned it up to 50% it was 200 watts roughly

i know this might be just me, but i feel with the reflective stuff on the tent, when i zip it up, its too bright in there.

i just took this picture, it looks like the new growth literally burned away, this is what originally caught my attention to start

its only happening on that one branch, which coincidentally is directly under the board

yup ok exaclty, i didnt use calmag in my last round of watering, i used plain tap water

im using bio vege, cannazyme and usually calmag, but i didnt put calmag in my last watering because someone on a different thread told me LEDS using more cal mag was “bro science”

Could be light burn, move light higher up, how is your RH?

earlier in my grow i had a thread titled “help my ph problem” i think this may have been what was causing it all along, my temps are 81 in the top of the tent, but around 75 on the leaf. i have been struggling to keep my RH around 40, it flucuates between 30-40, partly because i currently only have a cool mist humdifier which lowers the temp too much, especially at night. which i also think has caused my stems to show off their purple this early ( blueberry strain ).

i need to get a better humidifier, or another method of keeping my humidity higher up, its winter here so it will only get worse. its been raining today so RH was arpund 40 all day.

any suggestions on a humidifier that will generate a small amount of heat as well? somethjng small enough to fit into my tent as well

More water. It's chronic underwateeing. It will cause damage at first to make you think under watering.

I'd bet with those air pots you may have dry spots in your soil. Put saucers under the pots and keep adding plain water until they wick it up and fell heavy again.

Water in stages. Water each plant a few times a few minutes apart.

Is it just me or does the quantum board magnify spots on leaves? i took the plant out and could still see the spots, but inside the tent they look like they have freckles almost. according to my CANNA defiency pictures it looks like a combination of cal and mag, the most bottom fan leaves definitely looks like it. the tips crumbled in my fingers

Humidity issues too probably.

Your quantum boards are not the issue, I love mine and so do thousands of people. HLG and it’s suppliers run out of stock within hours after putting stuff for sale.

Get the water right, I nute every other water, and I never go full strength.

Get the light at the right height, veg 24” and flower 18” is a very safe rule.

Flush your plants and redo your nute schedule

Get your humidity somewhere between 50-65, always kept my plants happy

Get temp between 70-75 if you can, 65 for flower.

These plants are incredibly resilient, they recover from almost ANYTHING

Don’t worry about what people say on the boards, you can usually tell which comments to follow based on grammar, punctuation and the amount of sarcasm. These are real indicators that interviewers search for when candidates apply for jobs, especially high paying ones. The simplest details often mean the most, even on Internet forums. The way you type is most likely the way you speak and carry yourself in real life.

Don’t worry about something being called ‘bro science’. I’ve been told that a million times and truth is I could put my bud is a dispensary and most people wouldn’t be able to tell the difference whether good or bad.
