truthfully not worth your time.....2 reasons its not gonna get you that high until its cured not to mention its being picked early and not that strong anyway and second reason is that after you smoke it and it doesnt get you that high you will be disappointed i did that before then waited a week harvested and cured and i was like damn this is 10 times better than when it was growing still.....just hold off smoke some good shit and wait it out you let that bud grow that way anyway
As long as you do not make it a habit, but if you want to take a pinch every now and then.....go for it. Doing so will let you learn the potency of it as it grows. Hence getting to know your plant. If you take a pinch every other week or so, I dont think you will hurt anything, just keep an eye on the trichs at the same time. If you take a pinch and it is a buzz you like, harvest it. Its how you learn your plants, by all means, sample that plant from time to time. Just dont get greedy and just let it grow, dont pick at it like a Thanksgiving turkey. Small pieces every 2 weeks, you will be fine. Paying attention to the trichs and if you are sampling on occasion you will learn that plant and know just by looking at it when its done. You just have to have patience.

Best way to learn when to harvest is right here in the above post,its one thing to read about when to harvest & why to harvest but its much better to KNOW when to harvest from experience,sampeling is a good thing.

Man, I dont think you get it. When I am sampling, I know not to expect to get fucked up. I am looking for flavors, smells, or just a very slight mind altering feeling, and I am not smoking enough to even give me a headache, a small hit or two is all thats needed. Four weeks into flowering I like to know how things are progressing. Its not going to fuck me up, but its going to give me an "idea" of how it could be in another six weeks.
after you get the way too soon to even try headache - you won't want to sample too soon.

imo..i would wait a week or 2 to take samples...depending on strain an lighting conditions even with the trics if there all clear you will have a quick head high that doesn't last for long...as the cannaboids haven't nerly begun devolping ...just my opinion tho...peace az
You dont get it either man!!! Lets see if I can make it any clearer. Dont read anything in to it, take it as I say it, there should be no misunderstanding then.
When you are sampling, the intent is not to get fucked up. If you should happen to get a buzz that lasts for 20 minutes, awesome, but it needs more time. It will give you an idea of what is coming. Take another sample two weeks later and it fucks you up, and it not even cured, it might be a good idea if you are growing for personal use to cut it down.
Yes, you can get a headache from smoking some wet/uncured weed, but if it is just a taste test you will be fine. If your being greedy, yeah your gonna get a headache and you will have picked your plant to death, and nothing to show for your efforts in the end.

ok so the its to test quality right..s if he's growing a strain that is 9-11weeks in flower ..picking a bud that is only at 6 weeks probly wouldn't get you any buzz an there for is a waste no matter what....i wasn't knocking taking samples as i understand the need for them with new strains...but taking a bud at 6 weeks imo is a waste unless is a quick flower strain that finsih's in 7-8 weeks...peace az

my recommendation to go ahead was based on the odds that regardless what we said - he was going to pick a little one and try it - i figured i'd give him the go ahead

nope I didnt, I am grwing from bag seed so I have no Idea how long it will take for them too finish, I am no out of weed at all I have 1/4lb stash lol.... I was really just curious more along the lines of what rkm is sayng, and a few of the hairs on one of my plants are amber so I figured it was at least getting to the point that a sample would give me a general idea.....
