I have always taken clones from the young quick growing shoots, that is easy. but i'm getting rid of my moms and i want to get as many cuts as i can outta them. most of what is left have tough woody stems. My normal rootine is to soak the cuts in KLN and water solution for 10 min then dip it in "DIP n Grow" for 5-10 sec and then into the cloner, or oasis cubes. in the cloner i get roots in 4-5 days, in oasis a lil over a week. 8-10 days. But with these older shoots not sure. should I be scraping or stripping some of the woddy layer off the outside? or just let it soak a lil longer?

im not sure how think your talking put the jiffy peat pellets have big holes in the, thats what i use but it will take 2+ weeks to get roots probably longer if the stems are really thick. i grow in coco so ive also just dipped the stem in cloning solution and put it straight in a small pot off coco, feeding low strenth nutes ever couple days. i scrap some of the stem off it will make it thinner and easier to root.
