since you mentioned it being a concern... mylar -does- carry electricity so you must be mindfull of how it is used. I had a 7' by 7' space once where if you touched the walls it would make you tingle probably a bad thing, but i am using it again in a larger setup. Flat white paint is very safe. 'Panda Plastic' is also great, but about twice as expensive as mylar.
white paint! Simple, cheap, and zero maintenance. Matte white, nothing else. You'll be suprised how bright your grow area will get...I sometimes wear sunglasses LOL
thanks guys, yea my box is stained and could catch of fire easily. My box is under a wooden stair case so I was just making sure if my lights fell or something nothing would catch on fire. I'm thinking of just using white poster board...I have kinda white stain but its to much of a mess to put up

I agree! i painted the walls in my cab flat white exterior (cause its washable) and he inside of my cab get super bright with the 400w HPS and I HAVE to wear dark shades to go in there with the lights on.
I honestly swear by Panda plastic or film. Its way more durable than poster board (that seems it would catch fire easily), and washes off like a painted surface would. Additionally it doesn't let any light through which is important and the surface is something like 90 percent reflective. From gathering opinions, mylar can be tough to work with and maintain. Panda film is like 40 bucks a 50' roll. Its got my endorsement.
Panda poly is the way to go. You can't make a light curtain out of paint or separate shelves and keep light out with paint. Panda is highly reflective and can be had for around $75 for a 100' x 4' roll at 6 mils.
i would say mylar emergency blankets are very safe i had a light fall and bring the mylar down ontop/around the bulb and still no fire just took the silver off the mylar and fused it to the bulb... so i messed up a bulb but still no fire... musta been like that for atleast 10hrs b4 i noticed it.... check my indoor outdoor winter grow journal https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/141318-winter-indoor-outdoor-2x-400w.html
I use this stuff too, very good for keeping heat in and a good reflector too. For those of you who are worried about getting caught by FLIR/Thermal Imaging this is the stuff to surround your grow room with. Its brand name here is "Reflectix". Its an excellent insulator and reflects up to 98% of all radiant heat. I have it on my basement floor which is bare concrete and its better than carpet at keeping bare feet warm.
