Whats the best light for flowering??

My veg has a 400w metal halide. My grow tent is a 4x6 and i have 2 one for veg and flower. I was just wondering whats the best light for flowering??
 
Well if it's brand new then you may have to wait a while. MH's CAN do flowering. Not recommended though, the buds tend to be thinner, a bit longer and less dense, get a couple red spectrum CFL's in addition to the MH and you should be in business.

i grow medical so i was wondering about light what. I have 55 clones right now and i can have 24 in flowering so what wattage would be suitable for those plants or would i need like 2 lights ??



I have 2 100w cfl's and 3 60w cfl's from lowes in there too


the blue spectrum..... are those available at depot stores???

Yeah the blue ones would be 6500k those are for veg, you need the big 68 watt 2700k for flowering, a few of them actually and you should be good.
 
the best bulb for growing is the 1000w hps super blue hortilux retails for 229.99 its 3/4 sodium, and 1/4 metal both in 1 bulb, there you go another tip for massive yields.
 
then your good to go! although switching bulbs from mh to hps solely can result in blowing up your bulb and/or your ballast!
some system setups are only for one bulb!
 
go with a 430w super argo hps it has 30w of blue spectrum in it and the other 400w is hps thats what im using and you can find then for about 60 bucks or go to a menards or something and buy a 400w hps for 20 bucks
 
ya i was just gonna have 2 separate lights in the veg room with separate ballast. I just dont know what watts i need for 55 plants and im about to get more but ill be topping alot because my regulations say i can only have 24 in flowering and I can have the 72 clones below 12" with no buds. Until my buddy gets home i can get him certified and we can have double. right now figure 65 plants in veg. right now, they are barely rooting so i have a 400w metal halide and i was thinking about puttting in a 600w hps in the same room. I need some expert advice!

Wow, they look healthy! I would suggest sticking another CFL on each of those boxes, but this is optional. If you are growing for medical need legally, why not just do it outdoors? The sun is a lot more powerful than any light, and it's free to boot, just set up a little greenhouse outside to keep pests out.
