I need to buy a magnifier but I don't know what kind to get. What's the best strength for looking at trichomes and preflowers? Does radioshack sell them?

You want something like a jewellers loupe at something like 20-30x magnification. No idea if radio shack sells them, but I know the UK equivalent does - Maplin.

Radioshack has them for about 10 bucks. Dont' get the cheaper one (actually I think they are about the same price), one has a light on it.

Go to Radio Shack. They have a 60-100x magnifying microscope for about $10. You'll probably have trouble finding it because they put it in the Miscellaneous section, so just tell the guy that you're looking for a microscope that you saw on their website. They'll find it for you, and it's perfect for looking at trichomes.

yes radio shack sells them they are handheld microscopes 30x-100x $10. A very valuable tool
