whats perlite?

Hey all, whats the craic! just wondering what perlite is? never seen it localy and alot of ppl ere on riu use it. i only use compost at the mo but id like add to it! thanks

Its the white pebble stuff ya see in pots.

Thanks! would i be way off in saying pebles would do the same job? for drainage isnt it?

Walmart,hardware stores, lowes,home depot,menards. They all have it.

Where ya from? If you are in the us. The shits every where.

it's volcanic rock, and it's badass...really great for drainage..i always mix alot in with my soil and put 2 inches of pure perlite on the bottom of my pot...

hmm... none of them around ere.. Ireland! i havent looked too much for it yet tho. does perlite actually make a lot of difference?

maybe you can help answer my question?



when preparing an outdoor spot for a grow if i wish to dig a fat hole for the plant should i mix perlite in with the soil in the ground or is it for potting containers only?

yea man, absolutely...it promotes vigorous root growth..it also keeps the soil nice and airy.

Ya have to have it. It weighs practically nothing so ya can order it on line and the shipping will be cheap.

yeah man, they say outdoors you should use some kind of water retaining crystals but the perlite will do nothing but help...i'm gonna use it this year for my outdoor grow...the extra drainage will help the roots grow big and fast!

Thanks for the info every1, was thinking bout getting proper nutes too for em so yea i'l get sum perlite then too. fuck all bout ere!
