Whats better hps or hid??

wondering what is better and where to buy it online currently using cfl's

hps is a type of hid as are mh's.. hid stands for high intensity discharge, and like i said, both mh's and hps are types of hids...

They're one of the same. HID high intensity discharge describes MH and HPS lamps. Use both at the same time for all grow stages if you can. Otherwise for single light gardens MH is for veg and (maybe for some) early flowering. HPS for flowering.

if your grow area is real small like a grow box i would stick with cfl to avoid heat issues

Yep, +1 to what has already been said, HPS is a type of HID. I'd say get a 5500k MH for veg and a HPS for flower
