What would you recommend???

Basically I'm not sure when I should switch to bloom. These plants are about 4 weeks from seedling. I don't have much room vertically and they are in a 4x4 tent. As a new grower I'm very anxious to get them into flowering because I'm unsure of their gender but I know I have to get the most of my space also. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I have 2 peppermint kush from Barneys farm and they stretched into stupidity. Talking about a cotton ball bud every 6 inches on a 3' plant lol. Nothing like any indica I've ever grown. Biggest mistake on my part for sure but I shove them in a corner under a led and ignore them, give them nothing but left overs. If they shape up then they get more light, if not then they get whacked. No wasting light space on wimps

Right on. I have 4 Ripped Bubba and 2 unknowns. From what ive read the R. B tends to grow shorter.
 
Not much vertical space in a 4x4? I flip at about 10-12 inches tall, 8-10 inches if its a sativa. I also top at least once.

I can lift my light about 2 feet from where its at

Better do it now then and bend em over. 2' to work with...you're going to be kicking yourself in the ass for room lol

What happened with ur peppermint kush? They do stretch for sure. Over 6 feet tall
 
Man those plants turned into fantastic bud, seriously different from what I've harvested so far. I'd recommend to give them a shot, just beware of the stretch. One was accidentally pollinated by a Dutch passion blueberry unbeknownst to me. The male had just been found out, it didn't seem possible that it was old enough but it was. I sprouted 3 seeds right out of the bud and they're in pots now and growing. Again the smoke is great. 1/2 phenotypes had a definite mint aroma
 
What a bonus to get a few nice seeds. I'm impressed with the PK so far. Pheno 1 is piney citrus. And Pheno 2 is black pepper with no sneeze. It's crazy how different. Longest pistils I've ever seen on Pheno 1. What was ur yield roughly? If u remember. .

I always wait with seed plants until the node branching is alternating or asymmetrical. This is called alternating philotaxy (as opposed to symmetrical branching below it) and usually the preflowers (male or female) will be well defined.

Yield wasn't a lot but it's all nuggets. Each nug is good for 2 people to sail away on a crazy voyage. 3 good hits from a bong seriously did the trick. They were so easy to clean to. Snip snip and in 20 minutes everything was done. Still drying properly so I'd bet the finished product will be even better

20160330_094145.jpg 20160329_131821.jpg Update on PK. Below pictured are now on day 81 and no sign of any amber. Pics were from past day 75. Super lemon citrus pine. Other pheno growing, day 67 but photo taken around day 62 are pictured above. Pure smells of black pepper, it's amazing! No sneeze either. Ha. 6 feet tall.
