New grower starting first real grow. A couple months ago I threw some bag seeds in some cheap MG dirt. Little did I know what I was getting into. I got on this site to try to learn and deal with the many many issues and questions. I got hooked and decided to jump in with both feet. I've got a plan in my head but want some other opinions.
What would you do?
I now have:
Grow space - 13'6" x 20' x 9' with flat white walls
Strains - 5 Barney's farm LSD & 4 Nirvana Northern Lights seedlings.
Grow Gear - 25 site Aerocloner, 16 site Botanicare E&F, small homemade E&F, making several large aeromist systems.
Lighting: 2 400/600 Nextgen ballasts with CAP extreme air cooled reflectors and eye Hortilux super hps bulbs. 2 more on the way. Two, 4ft 2 tube fluorescent 6500k fixtures, 4 clamp style 26w cfls.
Ventilation - Various house fans and 2 6" CanFans. I have a co2 tank and controller and plan to get an AC/dehumidifier very soon. I'm also in the process of working on odor control. Designing a custom carbon filter.
Water supply will be a pain in the ass. But I do have a great RO system.
Experience - One indoor soil grow, loaded with problems, did it on a whim and started with MG time release soil. I know it's bad now, but it was there and just stuck the seeds in.
Misc. Info - I have mad skills in construction, plumbing and electrical, pretty good with AutoCad and I read and do research like crazy. High IQ and very inventive. Access to low or no cost high quality high pressure low gpm pumps. Like the ones used in mist cooling systems.
Other stuff - A load of aquarium pumps and stones. 300 rockwool starter squares, 100 3.75" net pots, 50lbs Hydroton, 1gal each of the full line of GH Flora series nutes. 2 germination trays with domes and warmers. MH pH/ppm meter. 10x25 roll BW. 4x25 roll Mylar.
My plans - Split the space 70/30, bloom veg. House mommas in botanicare system, clones and seedlings in the Aerocloner, small E&F and propagation trays. Veg and bloom in homemade aeromist systems using large stock tanks bought from farm supply, they're cheap, light weight and big, 63" x 27" x 18" for $60. The top will be made from second grade sheets of white abs found at local supplier. Gonna make a mist system like the ones used outside for cooling in the summer and put it inside the tank. I'm wanting to put a fogger in as well. Found a flip flop relay for $350 (I think I might be able to make it for a lot less) that will allow me to run 8 lights off my four ballasts and have two flower rooms alternating 12 hrs each. Two reflectors and two pendant 600w lights.
I want a perpetual grow maybe every 2-4 weeks.
Now it's your turns; thoughts, opinions?
What kind of minimum yield do you think I can expect as a Newbury and what could an experienced grower get?
Am very interested in SOG & ScROG for the future.
