He's right... Its a wysteria, and it looks almost like some grape vine in there as well...

You are right.. it's a Wisteria. a Ficus can look very similar but I looked through some other photos and it seems to be closer to Wisteria. I wish I could grow it, but it's just too hot here for it.

Without seeing a close pic of the leaves, looks like wisteria. Not a tree but a vine trained up. Now wouldn't that be something to cross with weed?
