What to feed

Hey i'm a noob never grown before can any 1 tell me about feeding an stuff i see thousands of bottles an i'm confused i get the ph part any thing else am stumped thanks

Good question. I'm new, just completed my first grow using cheap nutes. Trying to decide between Dyna Gro and General Hydroponics.

your really talking about using Foliage Pro for flower i thought that was a veg nute? have you tried the bloom also?

look at the npk of the mag pro...it is a flowering supplement...the foliage pro keeps 'em green til chop

Hey thanks for help i think i ll try that was gonna go down the canna route but it's quite expensive. I'm using soil to grow do i need a e.c meter? An i know i ll need a p.h tester but how do you use it do i test the nute's or soil then do i add p.h to the nute's or with water. I understand what nutes to feed i think, but now it's the testing bit am stuck on, what do i need for a soil grow???? Do i use A an B (is it for hydro)???? I'm confussed. Do you use a flush with the nute's you use?

You flush with clear water, or canna flush.

If you compound your soil with a bit of dolomite lime, you don't need a pH tester at all. You can get away without measuring TDS if you learn to "read" your plants and feed them when they show appetite.
The route I'd recommend for a first grow is to go with a complete, no-additives-necessary soil like the Supersoil discussed in the Organics subforum. You'll spend less on the ingredients for that than on the testers. My 2¢ ... cn

thanks for advise people just saved me a fortune thanks i will try the dolomite lime idea but will still buy a cheap p.h tester. An the foliage pro, mag pro an protekt idea an see how that goes. What size or age should the plant be before i start feeding? any more advise people like i say am new to the hobby any advise appreciated thanks

You can start feeding when your plant has roots...... Just watch how much you feed... You will want to start feeding really light... 150-200ppm's and work your way up. Foliar feeding is a great way to feed your plants too.... Just remember to not spray when the lights are on... if your using t-5's or cfl's you can spray with lights on... But if your using a HID or hps, your going to burn the plants... So always foliar just as the lights come on.. And don't spray till the point of run off.

Nutes... if your looking for something simple and you'll get great results.. try supernatural.... Thats what i started with.. And now im back to it, because it works wonders.
