Yes they are just what us aussies call button mushrooms
thay are to eat as food not magic or anything

Might wanna try a different section..not to be rude,or a mycologist..don't think button shrooms are grown around these parts..

Sorry mate i got told in the gardening section to post here
there is some that nows everything about mushrooms here
otherwise i would not of posted here
his name is canndo i got told

It's fine dude, you can post that here. Is that last picture how your kit looks now??? If it's like other mushrooms, I would just add 12/12 light, and try to make sure it stays somewhat moist, and at about a 90% humidity environment with some FAE. It looks like it should start pinning soon, but I don't know anything at all about regular edibles/buttons

If it is a fungus canndo will be the one to talk to..

Exactly. Him and Tylerrrrr are the most knowledgeable on the subject around here. Although they both disagree about certain things, they both have a good amount of info to share

Thanx guys i dont want to upset people as i love this site
Skuxx
Yes that last pic is what the kit looks like now,i have only had the lid off around a couple of days
I mist it with spray everyday to keep the peet moss damp and moldy
It is day 29 now since i got it going

No, actually he is on the phone with hs internet provider because he has had it with trying to post from his nokia. The thing DOES make a pretty good hot spot though.

Clint, my biggest suggestion to you is to choose another mushroom. Agaricus is a tough grow - the temps have to be right, the light has to be right and you really have to know what you are doing. I have had only limited success myself - strangely I got the best results under a newly planted myer lime tree in the fall. Think oyster mushroom, or get a kit from Fungi perfecti, their kits always work if you follow the directions.

(and they just sent me a check for an over payment I made 3 years ago - good folks)

Ladies and gentleman..the magic mycologist..!
Lol...I really wanna grow oysters and shitake..I feel I could sell 500$ worth a week to local farmer sourced restaurants here and quasi retire...

Hey thanx for dropping in canndo
The funny thing is they sell these mushroom kits at every hardware store and supermarket here in Aus for $10
They are meant to easy as to grow(i guess they just want your money)
They must come from China as the instructions make no sense what so ever
1 page they tell you to take lid off once mold appears
on the other page they say to leave lid on untill mushrooms appear then take lid off
They say nothing about what temps to have them in or light either
I will see if they pop up
I might look at Fungi perfecti for my next kit
i will keep the thread updated if they pop or need other info
How good is that , 3 years later they still send overpayment back to you , they sound trustworthy !

I'm no expert but its allways been my opinion to gain an all encompased knowledge on any subject..I'm sure these kits for edible mushrooms are for conversation pieces over dinner..get a few questions answered and a fe white oak logs and fredh edible shrooms are a few weeks away in certain climates...
