What strain to grow? (A-strain, orissa india, r44, malabar)

I've never done shrooms before simply because I have never been able to get a hold of any. Recently, I decided I was tired of asking around all the time and I went out and gathered some supplies and am ready to grow mushrooms myself. Since it's my first time I'm going pf tek, but I'm not birthing the cakes, i'm going to black out the sides and use the dry vermi as a casing layer come fruiting time and all the shrooms will grow right out the top. I ordered from little shop of spores four random grab bag syringes and got the A-strain, Orissa India, R44, and Malabar. Wondering if anyone has any experience with any of these and there opinions about them. I like the shape of the cap of the r44, but the india look unlike any other mushroom on the site.

I'm looking at the spores on the site right now, and the orissa india is really calling to me. I inoculate in the morning, and I think this is the needle i'm grabbing for. Maybe I'll update this later on as they germinate, colonize, and fruit.

Do yourself some favors - first, don't use PF tek, I know everyone seems to think that it is a beginner's tek. Find another method, one that actually has some parallel with how the mushrooms behave. Secondly, Orissa isn't what you want for a first time, you want a land race that will fruit in any situation, runs quickly and is contam resistant. Nothing matches those requirements like B+. It isn't the most exotic, it doesn't have a far off sounding name, it isn't the stellar producter that some are (Dakak Beach comes to mind). But it is dependable as hell and it will easily fruit in conditions that would inhibit many other races. You get this down, then try something more exciting. Course I just re-read your post and it says you got what you got - that being the case - take the A-strain (nice title for a song?) but really, rethink your pf tek plan there. As I have said countless times, the guy that invented that tek did so because he wanted to sell syringes.

Thanks for the reply man. I already had everything set-up and ready to go last night though. First thing I did when I woke up this morning was take an antibacterial shower. Then I walked into my other bathroom, with the sterilized jars waiting, the whole place had been emptied and bleached the night before, and shot them up with the india. I'm not doing straight pf tek. I tried keeping my other post short, but I'm keeping some of the cakes in the jars to fruit, and i'm going to take out some of the cakes, slice them up and put them in a tray, and put a casing layer on them. I want to do other tek's, but I don't have a pressure cooker and getting one isn't part of my near future, so the brf and vermiculite seemed the only way to go. Could I use the cakes to inoculate pasteurized manure or straw?

Also the A-strain has warts and it made me feel weird. Is there anything special i should know about fruiting orissa india?

Orrisa is a more difficult strain than A, in my opinion and the fruit is smaller, more squat.

I have some Brazillian's going and just checked my mail and the Space Coast is in.Did a little research and they said it's so aggressive it was growing fruit in the petri dish in 7 day's.So I made a special cake with multiple injection spots.15ml syringe so I figure I'll save 5ml.
