I like my 2.2 gal pots for coco as well. They seem to be the same outcome as my 3.9 gal.

I've only grown autos outdoors. Your light is limited. My plants never match what I've seen from the indoor grows here. I'll never get those results.

But I've found a 3 gallon pot works fine. Anything bigger, and it's a waste of FFOF. I've never had a plant come close to being rootbound.

I settled on 5 gallon fabric pots for my autos outside and 7 gallon for the 3 photoperiod plants I'm going to do...

I'm planning on running some autos outdoors and going to use 5 gal bags that I will only fill 3/4 and top off with more FFOF once in flowering. Trying to go water only the whole way, see how it works out
