What Size Pots for 1oz Clones?

I have a few photoperiods in veg, and I've never cloned before.

my question is, what size pot/planter will yield me 1 oz per clone.
I've read that it can be done in a Solo Cup, but that it is a PITA cuz you constantly have to trim the roots and also make sure they don't fall over.

I'm thinking half gallon pots/planters should be sufficient, but if someone with actual cloning experience could shed some light on potential yields and different size pots (example: 1/2 gal = 1 oz ---- 1 gal = 1.75 oz)

Obviously there is a lot of variation in strains and the growing conditions and soil could affect the yield (I know this)

Ultimately, my first legit grow yielded roughly 25 grams per sq foot. with an average of 0.85 per watt. I think i can improve on these number with clones (more even canopy etc.) - so yeah long story short. I want 1 oz per clones OR per sq foot.

Also how much additional veg (after rooting) do you guys do?

1 gallon pots minimum. Sea of Green under a lot of REAL light.

Its dependent on veg time from clone not pot size.

I ran 120 clones in 1gals last yr. vegged 2 weeks.
Used 2x 600watt hps and 1x 315watt cmh.
5 strains.
Clones yielded from 8-12g each.

I ran 120 clones in 1gals(6inch diameter)last yr. vegged 2 weeks.
Used 2x 600watt hos and 1x 315watt cmh.

So, i yielded 32-48g per square foot.
4 clones per square foot.

4 clones per square foot.
so if I take some clones and assume 2 weeks for rooting (in jiffy pellet) and another 2 weeks of veg in 1 gal - then flower i would get 8-12 gs per clone? Am I understanding this properly?

Thats what i got anyway. I used pro mix and NFTG full line of nutes.
Strains were Goji og, bodega bubblegum, green crack, gods green crack

Could probably improve yield with better lights. And at the time i had some heat issues w temps getting into the 90s some days.

Awesome, thanks for the input, i will follow your lead and try out 4 clones per sq ft in 1 gallon pots.
