What mix-ins do you use to keep pests away?

Organic growers, what's happening!
Switched from Chem to organic this round and went from zero bugs to all the bugs!
Curious what you guys are mixing into your soil to keep pests away? How's it working for you?

I make a habanero spray and foiler spray. Sometimes I add garlic to it. Seems to work pretty well, however is only effective for 3/4 days. What say you?

Neem oil spray weekly works well for me (5 ml neem/quart) for me. I did buy a 10 lb bag of mustard pellets to experiment with, they're supposed to kill off fungus gnats if you topdress with them.

I use diatomaceous earth which you have to apply between waterings because it is useless when wet. Microbe lift, fly strips I also mix in some neem meal when prepping my soil I do t top the soil with it though during a grow and cinnamon will help on a soil level with mostly all things if you have mites or things like that try a regular light citrus spray for under leaf and stalk applications. Gnats will kind of linger no matter what but a infestation is what you don’t want.

Used to get thrips fairly often until I started amending soil with neem seed meal. Keeping the top layer of soil dry is not too difficult especially if you use a layer of mulch on top; helps keep gnats at bay. A sprinkle of diatomaceous earth as a preventative measure usually keeps them from coming back but DE also breaks down after a time. If I see any flying fuckers I get out the sticky traps. Not too hard to keep bugs away with a few simple precautions.

Ran into gnats pretty badly during the end part of my last grow and was pointed towards this product.

Microbe-Lift BMC Mosquito Control

No testimony yet.
That shit works awesome. When I get gnats I use that for a bit until they're gone. I haven't needed to give my 15 gals any for months now.

Oh, I top dress with neem or karanja meal too.

After I build a pot, i top dress with 1-2 cups of fresh EWC and cover that with 1/2" of hardwood mulch. No Fungus Gnats!

Any insight on the Mustard pellets?

EWC alone took care of gnats in my soil for 3 years before I added some different composts. I bought a bag of Wiggle Worm when I started and it was full of predator mites. Hypoaspis Miles to be more specific.

Cover the pot by wrapping landscape fabric around the stem of the plant. Tie string around pot. Prevention people.

Diatomaceous earth and calci sand as top dress are my second choice.

Some bugs are too smart for sprays, and will just laugh at you.

Cinnamon! I turn off fans, sprinkle a some and scratch it in a little then I sprinkle a little more and water the plant (so it doesn't fly everywhere with the fans).

It kills or repels many insects and is great for your roots also!

Anyone here try a cover crop of peppermint or thyme as a pest deterrent? I tossed a few seeds in my pots just to see if they even sprout. I don't have a problem but have had them, would like to beat them to the punch. The art of the intercepting fist. :)

Gnat mix or whatever. Its pulverized glass pressurized into pellets works like de topping. And as for pests use pyrethrin's. H202 concentrate and need only during veg.

I don't think Gnat Mix is in business anymore, or Amazon doesn't carry it, where do you get your Gnat Mix from?
