12ft ceilings cement floors insulated . My climate is mostly cold
Was looking at quantum lighting
Samsung 301b
Driver on chip boards found boards 70-500 watt
I power double ended
Or possible China cmh
It’s just allot to consider and I want a pro setup

Imo it would depend by which metric you are using to measure.

Its my opinion that LED and HID can both achieve the same yield per ft2.

Assuming you set θg/ft2 yield rate, the factors that would determine your lighting decision might be outlined as such:

If quantity of light was the metric used to measure how you achieve your yield rate then I'd say LED is the way to go.

If quality of light was the metric used to measure how you achieve your yield rate then I'd say CMH is the way to go.

And if cost was the metric used to measure how you achieve your yield rate then I'd say HPS is the way to go.

1000w of LED will provide more light than 1000w of anything else.

this is probably going to break down to 1 question... How much $ do you want to spend? A good quality 1000 watt equivalent LED is going to run you over $1000 each easily. If money is no object then I say go with COB led's and as many as you can afford. this will keep your electric bills lower... If you don't have a pile of money to spend on lights upfront then I say go with HPS or CMH... The light fixtures will be much cheaper up front even though you will spend more $ on electricity... but you will still have the good yields.

Unless you have thousands too dump, HPS is the way to go.
30'x30'?
I'm running around 15'x15' and pull around 3 lb's per month off of 14 plants in a perpetual RDWC.
How many plants are you looking to grow, and what are you going to do with all that herb?
Plus the cost of everything else needed, you better do the math and develop a business plan, because that's what you are doing, creating a long term investment.

I'd probably recommend cobs if you are going LED for this space. Hard to tell without seeing your setup but seeing as you have high ceilings, and a large space to cover, I prefer cobs.

LED is not all created equal. The old lumiled blurple LEDs you commonly see are about half as efficient as something like the Samsung LM301b. When buying, look for Samsung, Osram, Bridgelux, Cree, Nichia, Citizen, Luminus diodes/ Cobs. Those will give you the efficiency you are looking for.

I don't know your budget but filling a large room like that with QBs or any other iteration of the idea is going to cost you a fortune. Since you are ordering a larger quantity, consider Meijiu off Alibaba. An advertiser by the name of hortibloom on this site looks like he has some pretty great stuff for the price. BC Blondes also has nice stuff if you're in Canada. I use rapid LED and live it so worth checking out too though like the QBs, they won't be cheap

That doesn't sound right, even the Chinese clones of Quantum boards are more than that.
Your looking at 1.5 dollars per watt on QB kits for genuine article.
Interested to see these lights.
