hey everyone, lookin to get a new light/lights soon. Any help or input would be appreciated.

Id like to have some info on any experience one may have with secondary lenses, how you feel abou em, how far away or close you have them and any differences you concluded. I currently have CLW. primary 90°lenses only. im looking into maybe an at200 or A51. don't know much about hans, heard they good but not much talk bout them. Well thanks for reading!

I use Hans and A51 XGS.

Hans panel hasnt any lenses, its a reflector, thats why you can keep it as close as 6-7 inches from your plants and not have any issues. Thats handy when you grow in a restricted height area. But on the negative side it means the light doesnt penetrate the canopy as good as the XGS. I wouldnt recommend the Hans for plants bigger than 3 feet tall. The XGS has more power but you need to keep it 20 inches from the canopy, so you'll need a 7 feet tall space if you plan to grow 5 feet plants.

I love my A51s.. I've got 4 or 5 A51s and I can't wait for another month or two til I can get another tent/light and check out the new RW.. Honestly, I would have luvd to check out Apache but they're priced out of my range and the Hans panel isn't/wasn't enough lamp for me.

ahh i see. Im very curious in the canopy pentration. I have 7 feet to work with :fire:minus a foot almost for filter. I know the CLW puts out decent ass umoles (1389) at 18 in and 2570 at 12 in. except they might burn at 12 in lol especially the 440 compared to old one. I am getting popcorn buds though do to lack of penetration. This is why im interested in other lights. Still gonna finish grow with 440 and see how well the 5 or 6 band spectrum works compared to less spectrum with lenses. How many bands is the area51RW? anybody know?
I also wanna put these uvb's to the test. Which brings me to another thing, if i go area51 or apache, i would love to still supplement uvb light.
As for the apaches, don't they have to be farther away because of the small lenses?

i know you love your A51 ;) how quiet is yours? and how hot is it? the metal on my clw gets on verge of too warm if temps are 88.
Im also curious how loud the at200 is. i calculated it out and if i got 2 at200's and an rw75 id be a lil over 2200 out. If i just got 7 or 8 RW 75 id be out 2000 exact. quite a difference. and hell of an investment either way! coverage would be diff for sure.

edit: plus uvb lights! smh.

There's a lot of factors to consider. How many plants are you growing what's your grow space. I have a at200 under 2 blue dream. The at200 is nothing short of amazing and is worth the money. I've heard nothing but good things about the area 51xgs and I plan on getting one as well.
Apache is a very energy efficienct and quiet light.

lol thanks
http://www.bmlhorticulture.com/ ............. Pet "works" there now:mrgreen:

Franjan is still unemployed sadly, maybe Hans will give him a job
lol thanks man. they look cool. never seen or heard them. I hate how every led site lacks the info we want to know! ccouldn't tell what watt diodes they were, and would like to see pictures of diodes as well. and there "600" bar is $1000. I could just go with apache or area 51 easily at that price.

I've got two A51 lights and can attest to the high quality of light, and cannabis, they produce.
Both A51 and AT are top notch companies, so you'll end up with something good, no matter which way you go.
I think the biggest difference between the two (besides price) is warranty, AT offers a 2 year, and A51 offers a limited lifetime warranty.

AT is limited lifetime too. Their website isn't up to date but they offer it...

They are an authorized retailer and are authorized to advertise that because that is what they offer.

Good to know, thank you, GG707.
Although, the way it's worded "limited lifetime warranty available", that available makes it sounds like an add-on.
Forgive me, but that's my numerous years of retail sales experience speaking up, so they may want to fix that if it's not the case.

I feel like im just gonna have to try both to satisfy my curiosity lmao there has to be a difference somewhere whether it be end product, veg, bloom, longevity, noise level, efficiency, heat, hell idk. The only obvious thing I can see is A51 you can fix and upgrade.

In a 2x4. I would use either two 190s or 150s(or one of each like I'm about to do)or 4 -75s. I did one xgs over a 2x3 with good results, little over 6.5oz. The case on the xgs doesn't seem to get warm at all. I have never noticed it feels generally cool to the touch. My 17W led floods run much hotter. I have a rw 150 that arrives today so could tell if it operates the same temperature wise. And the xgs is also very quiet. That's about all I have to offer. LOL
