you really dont ever have to use a rooting/cloning agent.... i know alot of people who dont use any at all and have 100 percent success. The plant stems have all the rooting/cloning vitamins they need
i have never used those, but i blv you make a hole and drop the taproot in! dont quote me on that tho!

Yep loudblunts is right.
Cloning gel is only really worthwhile as an aid to stop stem rot as it has fungicide in it.
If your new to the game though i would recommend using cloning gel as cloning can be difficult depending on the environment,strain and your level of skill
