What is this + rep for positive I.D some sort of fungus??

Well as it says im not sure on what this is (guessing its some kind of fungus.) I found it growing on top of the compost what had baby lettuces in. I thought I'd post before i look all round the net because if you know what it is im sure you'll be interested to tell me about it here is some pics for yaa. Hope you enjoy what your about to see!!

eww that is wierd. looks almost like a small mushroom cap in development. ( not that i exactly know what im talkiong about.) at least from that top view. i duno tho ive never seen nothing like it

Ive had small mushrooms groing on top before but this is just weird looks like a sea creature lol
