Yep, something was, where do you live, could have been mice, if it happened in the dark.

ah i really doubt it was mice. its on a branch that is like 7-8" off the ground and side walls.

anyone ever seen this before?

nope but you should get that leaf off of there, always remove dead or damaged leaves.

can anyone confirm calkiggins? the rest of the leaf is fine and still does photosynthesis why remove it?

please confirm if this is what i should do.
