It’s not a paper wasp and I'm not sure about yellow jackets, I've assumed your yellow jacket are the same thing as our wasp?

Apparently they're pretty minor as far stings go but don't let fool you it's dam sore lol.

This is a wood wasp it looks a bit scary but they don't sting.
