Looking to get some good ventilation in my 5x5x7 tent and was wondering what are the quieter inline fans out there and what cfm fan and carbon filter should i look into?
Thanks

No such thing. Moving air makes alot of noise. The best thing to do is build a box out of 2x4's and plywood to house the fan. Stuff it with insulation and/or sound insulation boards. You can use foam etc. Insulated ducting helps as well as straight runs in the ducting.

As far as what size depends on a few things. I wouldnt go any smaller than a 6"

I run 3x 600w in cool tube hooked to SP silent 6 inch and can filter
And sms hybrid fan controller (not cheap one)
You aint even gonna hear it outside of this room!!!

Take my word as granted this is the best investment you will ever make. They worth every and each penny!

I dont mean it bad or mean any offense, but this type of fans above is what you should stay away of.

Its like a jet even with the speed controller.

The best can fans i have seen my self was the can fan

This type

http://greenbookpages.com/reviews/hydroponics/q-max-fans/

If you insist on haven very strong fan go with this one but believe me the sp is the quitest I have tested both.

And i suck throw the filter and bush through the cooltubes

The SP cant handle heat like can fans do.

My 2 cents

Growers House has a review on several. Good info and surprising! Not as much difference as I thought.

These are good ideas for small grows 1000w or less but if your running say 4000-10000 watts these arent going to work to well.

Greenlegend.

Like I sayed I have 1800w on 1x 6 inch

They have 8 & 10 inch as well.

Even tho you can use more than one ;)

Still worth it and still possible to use efficiently ;)

maybe im cheap but 8" 530cfm @ $281.60 s&p vs 8" 747cfm @ $174.42 vortex is a no brainer espically if you're using 2 or 3. Diy sound boxes are easy to make.

I guess if you're not cheap its ok :)

Brother I would loveeeee to be cheap!

However, when I choose about payen100 or 200 more now will be better for me now rather than I get cought bcz of stuiped fucked up cheap fans that will let my neighbour's tip me off then ill have to pay 20,000 euro which is more than dollars as a fucken bill for the government.
Which they are doin great stealin our money already in any way u could think off starting from flushing the toilet to payen tax on ur dog even if u remove his shit ur self!

Your choice ur previlige bro ;)

Much of the noise is air moving. The fan is only a portion of what we perceive as "fan noise". A large volume of air moving through ducting and around corners is gonna make sound. Insulating the ducts will help. Fans don't really differ $400 dollars worth. The sound box idea is good.

I'm always curious what people mean by quiet when talking about fans. I got 440 cfm and I think considering it runs quiet but it's not whisper quiet either. If I had to compare it to something I would say it's about equal to a regular conversation speaking voice but numbed out a little more because it's constant

Air movment will get less bcz of ducting if its long enough or if the fan is not that strong, leaving you with almost nothing except when you go to the exhust end and have ur ear on it, then ull hear the sound of air!

I hear my circulating fan in my room not the exhust fan!

Irritating :) but ya ! Am happy enough!

I had so many visits in my home.

Door closed, no body even knows whats going on!!

After time ull get used on it and not gonna even notice it any more!

However, a stranger can hear it maybe??!

Thats why you have to be contious, if you close the door and still hear sound.

Then the fans is louder than normal conversation. Then ill be worried!
