What is the consensus on cloning after flowering?

I've read a lot of cloning FAQs, but none of them seem to answer the question: Can you successfully take clones from a plant after it has flowered?

ramo, the urban grower answered this for me

yes you can take clones from a flowering plant, but the clones will be flowering themselves after they establish a root system. its ok to do this if you love this strain or more seeds/clones are not available, but it can take longer to grow because you will need to re-veg the clone befor you get any real growth

the only consequence is it takes more time to root, then return to veg? is there an impact on production or bud quality? It is essentially returning the plant to a second veg phase, correct?

same amount of time to root, but you need to convert the plant back into veg, which will slow you down, but youll be able to keep your strain
