What is most common name for first plant?

well not everyone names their plants, we have on occasion when the name really fits the plant but mostly they get letters and/or numbers
Dr. Jekyll
As a first time grower, plants got names like "holy crap batman, it's alive" or "rats, I think we just killed it"

Mine get stripper names that start with the same letter as their strain.
Sabrina = Super Skunk
Natalia = Northern Lights
etc.
Keep in mind I am only going to grow a few plants at a time. If you are growing a room full, I would probably go with Dr Jekyll or just call them "weed".

Well I'm talking for a small time 1 plant kind of beginner. I wanted to name it Eve but I thought everyone must give theirs this name.
I checked on Saturday night and nothing was sticking out, now I came home tonight and checked and there's 2-3 inches sticking out with the split seed husk stuck to 1 of its 2 main leaves. I am not sure what to do next!

put it in soil, with a bit of water (not too much) and put it under some light, (23 watt CFL 6500K works great for seedlings).

Alright I'll post a picture of it soon.
It germinated in soil, so that's already taken care of. It is growing in a 3 gallon pot. Also, it is an autoflower seed.
Right now I have had a 400W lightbulb on at 50% just to heat up the area because I read the seedlings like it warmer. Is that way too much light for the seedling to handle? I can always raise the light higher over it or just keep it off or turn it on for less hours.

be careful as 400w is allot of power for a seedling even at 50%, keep the bulb at least 24 inches away for the first while

Don't worry about the shell, it will likely fall off in a day.

Thanks! That seems like a lot of sunlight, but not a problem. I'll try to find a lower power light so I don't fry it, and until then I'll limit its exposure by raising the light higher above it and maybe give it some shade with a paper plate.

no need to shade it, just keep the lights high 2 to 3 feet until it seems stable, then lower slowly

I have a 12 day old girl with the shell still clamped on to a seed leaf. She's very healthy, but that little shell still wants to hang on.
