"FLUSHING" MEANS TO FLUSH OUT ANY HARMFUL THINGS IN YOUR GROWING MEDIUM. IN ORDER TO PERFORM A CORRECT FLUSH YOU NEED TO BE AWARE OF THE SIZE OF YOUR CONTAINER. FOR A COMPLETE AND THOROUGH FLUSH YOU NEED TO POUR THREE TIMES THE AMOUNT OF WATER THAN THE SIZE OF YOUR POT. SO IF YOU HAVE A THREE GALLON POT YOU WOULD POUR NINE GALLONS OF WATER THROUGH THE POT. I KNOW, YOUR THINKING THAT'S TOO MUCH WATER, BUT YOUR SOIL SHOULD HAVE GOOD ENOUGH DRAINAGE TO DRAIN ALL OF THAT WATER. I FLUSHED MY PLANTS LAST MONTH, TRUST ME, IT TAKES THAT MUCH WATER. I GET ALL OF MY GROW INFO FROM JORGE CERVANTES' MARIJUANA HORTICULTURE THE INDOOR/OUTDOOR MEDICAL GROWERS BIBLE, I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. HOPE ALL WORKS WELL FOR YOU AND YOUR LADIES! NASTYRUDEDOGG IS HERE TO HELP!

After you take a leak or a crap in your toilet, there's that little metal handle thingy on the side of the tank. You push it down and it all goes down the hole. Hope this answered your question. All kidding aside, flushing is what some ppl like to do to their plants before they harvest in order to purge the nutes out of the plant. I, along with several extremely knowledgable long time growers on this site don't flush before harvesting. I did it one time and the plant seemed to suffer more than anything. I think that the last week of flowering is when the plant needs food the most to finish up it's work. It has been MY experience, and in MY opinion, flushing is NOT necessary. If you harvest when the plant is ready, then dry it and CURE it properly, you'll have some great smoke. Like I said, I flushed before and didn't see any difference in the finished product. Good luck.

hm so heres my question. when u flush does the ph of the water matter. cuz i use distilled water and the ph is always right in it without doing anything to it but i buy it in gallon jugs and id hate to have to buy 9 jugs just to flush 1 plant

Just keep putting your distilled water in and let her run out the bottom until it doesn't drip anymore then do it again. Your just rinsing your soil so you get the purest flavor out of your buds.So once you think you have "rinsed" it enough to flush out all your nutes and anything else you may have put in your soil then your done. Let her dry out before you take the plant. Plain and simple. You don't want your plant to taste like anything other than what you got the strain for.

Is flushing outdoor crop (in the ground not in pots) necessary? If so how much water is needed over a specific period of time (i.e how many flushes needed, how long before harvest, how much water).
