What if you go over 72 hours of dark before harvest?

i have done this 3 4 times indoor to be honest it doest really do shit for the plant mabye stress it out a little give u more chance of hermie but i have tryed it indoor a few times doest really matter in weight diff i mabye got a half an o more from the ones i did 72 for but i found just aggressive feeding seems to work alot better i like to leave my girls 48 hours in complete darkness be4 i pull to get that resin going but i found molasses or even honey seems to work better then the darkness thing if u wanna really blow some minds add some food colouring to ur rez change the colour of them

They still transpire during dark period a little bit and build cells during this time as well, this is where we usually see the growth in a plant . I think This is the ideal that people run with. 72 hours won't hurt your plant, however it may be a bit redundant since there is no empirical data to back up these extra dark time before harvest claims! Go for it and report back!

Nobody would run this experiment, however, when you ask, or do something like the OP asked...
Ask yourself:
"How much better could this 72 hours of dark help my plant..."
It's a 72 hour period of time..
So would your plant be better if it had 72 MORE hours of nice lighting....
Or would it be better with 72 hours of 12/12 ...
No one could ever answer why or which way would be better...
It's like 1/50th of your grow time...
Ask yourself: "Changing anything in my plant for 72 hours...do I think anything done to my plant in a 72 hours block of time will make a difference..."
Answer... Not Really...
At the end stage of your plant, why would anyone... want to mess around...

They run out after 12 hours dark exactly. The leaves store only enough starch during the day to get through one anticipated night length (12 hours if you're 12/12).
After being in the dark for longer than 12 hours, the plant simply stops growing as it has no starch reserves left.
It makes sense to harvest at the end of a 12 hour dark period because all the leaf starch will be burned and the cured product will theoretically be smoother. Anything after 12 hours could be seen as unnecessary.
